HEROES NEVER DIE! WE REMEMBER THOSE WHO FELL. WE HONOUR THOSE WHO SURVIVED!
The Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine who died fighting for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity is a commemorative day in Ukraine, observed on 29 August. It honours military personnel and members of volunteer units who lost their lives defending Ukraine’s independence.
The symbol of this day is the sunflower, as it was amongst fields of this very flower that many Ukrainian soldiers fell in August 2014.
Let us remember those who have died. Let us honour the living!
