THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH HAS AMENDED THE PROCEDURE FOR ISSUING (GENERATING) SICK LEAVE CERTIFICATES
The Ministry of Health, by Order No. 78 dated 15 January 2024 (registered with the Ministry of Justice on 29 January 2024 under No. 152/41497), amended the Procedure for Issuing (Forming) Sick Leave Certificates in the Electronic Register of Sick Leave Certificates. It was subsequently amended by Order of the Ministry of Health No. 173 dated 02.02.2024.
In particular, the Procedure states that if any of the medical reports on the basis of which the sick leave certificates constituting one insured event are issued contain a note on the presence of alcohol and/or drug intoxication as a cause of temporary disability, information about it shall be reflected in all sick leave certificates constituting one insured event.
It is also clarified that based on the data of medical reports constituting one case of temporary disability and containing a reference to the record in the Register of Medical Reports in the electronic healthcare system of the previous medical report, sick leave certificates are generated as a continuation of the case of disability in the order of priority, regardless of the status of previously generated sick leave certificates (except for the status "generated by mistake") (i.e., removed "in the period before 1 May 2022").
The Orders will come into force on the date of their official publication. On 27 February, they were published in the Official Gazette. Therefore, the changes are effective from that date.
