During December 2024, trilateral meetings in a mixed format were held between the management of the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the Federation of Auditors, Accountants and Financiers of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Ukraine and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA, USA) & the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK) to discuss the intentions of cooperation.
In the course of mutual discussions and debates, Natalia VOVCHUK, Head of the AICPA&CIMA Representative Office in South-Eastern Europe, stressed the importance of developing professional certification of accounting, finance, audit and taxation specialists in the context of dynamic changes and digitalisation of the global economic space. Marina Zaitseva, Coordinator of Educational Projects at the CIMA Office in Ukraine, presented the opportunities of the relevant AICPA&CIMA programmes in Ukraine and potential areas of cooperation.
The Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Valerii Zhuk, stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation and grant activities in the context of Ukraine's European integration vector and revealed the achievements and strength of the Institute's scientific and educational potential. At the same time, the Director of the Institute, Professor Stanislav Vasylishyn, emphasised the team's focus on modern trends in professional certification, in particular in the context of the prospects for synchronising the Certified agribusiness professional accountant (CAA) programme with CIMA professional certification programmes. In her turn, Executive Director of the Federation of Auditors, Accountants and Financiers of Ukraine (FABF) Yulia Nezhyd drew attention to the importance of uniting the efforts of the professional community, international partners and educational and scientific institutions in the context of strengthening the professional skills of practicing accountants, economists, financiers and auditors with a focus on the best international practices.
As a result of the meetings, the vectors of further discussions and prospects for cooperation for the benefit of the development of the profession and Ukraine were identified!
