Information campaign for employers ‘Come out into the light!’ launched

Undeclared work is a deliberate avoidance by employers and employees of official registration of labor relations. This practice may seem attractive because it allows both parties to obtain certain advantages, such as reducing the tax burden, avoiding payments to social insurance funds, or even obtaining social benefits that would otherwise be unavailable. However, this approach carries serious risks and long-term negative consequences for both employees and employers.

For workers, the risks of undeclared work may include a lack of social protection, lack of access to a pension system, difficulties in obtaining medical care, and lack of guarantees of stability and security in the workplace. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or injury, the worker may be left without the means of subsistence and necessary support.

Employers who resort to the use of undeclared labor also expose themselves to significant risks. In case of detection of such violations, they may be subject to administrative and criminal liability, face significant fines, suspension of the company's activities, or the need to pay compensation to employees. In addition, companies that resort to shadow schemes often face difficulties in business development, have a worse reputation and cannot receive government orders or development loans.

Unfortunately, undeclared work remains a common phenomenon even during wartime. This not only undermines social justice, but also causes significant damage to the economy and defense capabilities of our country. Every hryvnia not paid to the state budget due to undeclared work reduces opportunities for financing the army, supporting social programs, modernizing infrastructure, and implementing other important state initiatives.

According to experts' estimates, the state budget loses about 100 billion hryvnias every year due to undeclared work. These are huge funds that could be directed to the defense of the country, provision of social guarantees for the population, development of the economy and improvement of the standard of living of citizens. Instead, this money remains in the shadows, which complicates the development of the state and weakens its stability in difficult times.

In order to combat this negative phenomenon and raise citizens' awareness of the risks and consequences of undeclared work, the State Labor Service of Ukraine is initiating a large-scale information campaign "Come out into the light!". This campaign is designed to convey to employers and employees the importance of compliance with legislation in the field of labor relations.

The campaign is aimed not only at informing, but also at actively monitoring the state of compliance with the requirements of the law. As part of this initiative, labor inspectors carry out informative visits to enterprises in various sectors, such as agriculture, construction, transport, trade, temporary accommodation and catering.

Inspectors provide consultations, explain the main requirements of the law and analyze employment dynamics. This monitoring makes it possible to identify business entities that use labor without concluding labor contracts, and to take appropriate measures to correct the situation.

Remember! Only declared work provides stability and protection for workers, contributes to the development of the economy and increases the defense capability of our country. Each of us can contribute to the strengthening of our state by working legally and responsibly. Only together we will be able to build a strong, independent and prosperous Ukraine!
