AN IMPORTANT STUDY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINIAN AGRICULTURAL POLICY FOR THE NATION: An article in the “ECONOMY OF UKRAINE” No. 11 for 2024

The national leading scientific journal “Ekonomika Ukrainy” published an article by scientists of the National Research Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics” and the Institute of Accounting and Finance of NAAS on “THEORETICAL AND APPLIED BASIS OF MODELING AGRARIAN STRUCTURE AND STATE AGRICULTURAL POLICY” (https://nasu-periodicals.org.ua/index.php/economyukr/article/view/2024-11-3/2024-11-3).

The article is based on institutional theory, which in 2024 once again gained recognition in economic science and practice, as evidenced by the award of the Nobel Prize in Economics to the scientists who used it as the basis for their research (https://www.unian.ua/economics/other/nobelivska-premiya-2024-nazvano-troh-laureativ-u-galuzi-ekonomiki-12786924.html).

The article theoretically substantiates the need to plan the development of the agrarian system and the State agricultural policy of Ukraine on the basis of model, integrated approaches. The article changes the current understanding of the agrarian system and the State agricultural policy in Ukraine and considers these categories in terms of a socio-economic institution and its organizational components (institutions).

The article uses as an example the content of the “Rural Preservation Model of Agrarian System” of Ukraine, which was approved by the XXVII Congress of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine and the Council of the Agrarian Union of Ukraine (https://farmer.co.ua/ua/zizdy/item/286-rishennya-rady-asotsiatsii-fermeriv-ta-pryvatnykh-zemlevlasnykiv-ukrainy); (https://magazine.faaf.org.ua/images/stories/juk/nauk_dopovid_2017/Zhuk_Obih_zemel_2017m.pdf).

The application of the approaches proposed in this article is aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of state programs and strategies for the development of agricultural production and rural areas of Ukraine in the context of European integration.

The article is useful for Ukrainian civil servants, MPs who formulate economic and agricultural policy; scientists; public figures; agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers; representatives of rural self-government bodies; and foreign partners. The article can be used to make changes and additions to the relevant educational programs of higher education institutions.
