CONGRATULATIONS TO STANISLAV VASYLISHYN, DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE, ON HIS ELECTION AS CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS OF THE NAAS OF UKRAINE!

On 24 July, the Presidium of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS) hosted the constituent meeting for the establishment of the Young Scientists Council.

A total of 30 delegates representing the Academy's research institutions participated in the voting process. Sixteen delegates attended the meeting in person, while fourteen joined remotely via videoconference.

The meeting was opened by Mykola Patyka, Vice President of NAAS, who conveyed greetings from the President of the Academy and emphasized the importance of the newly elected Council in advancing agricultural science in Ukraine. The presidium of the meeting also included Svitlana Yatsenko, Head of the Department of Scientific Personnel and Postgraduate Studies, and Liudmyla Zasukha, Deputy Head for Postgraduate Studies.

The organizers informed participants about the preparations for the meeting and the review of 19 applications submitted by candidates. During the meeting, Stanislav Vasylishyn (National Scientific Centre Institute of Agrarian Economics; Institute of Accounting and Finance of NAAS) presented his programme as a candidate for Chair of the Council, outlining a vision for developing a modern scientific ecosystem.

Among the Council's key priorities, he highlighted support for young researchers, attracting research grants, participation in European projects, strengthening digital competencies, addressing social and professional needs of young scientists, establishing interdisciplinary research teams, and fostering close cooperation with Members of the Academy.

During the discussion, participants proposed the creation of an interdisciplinary digital platform to facilitate communication among researchers, as well as dedicated social media pages aimed at promoting agricultural science and increasing its public visibility.

Following the secret ballot, the 11-member Young Scientists Council was elected:

  • Chair: Stanislav Vasylishyn (National Scientific Centre Institute of Agrarian Economics);
  • Deputy Chair: Mariia Symon (Institute of Fisheries of NAAS);
  • Secretaries: Yuliia Chernobai (V.Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production of NAAS) and Inna Hetman (Institute of Food Resources of NAAS).

Council Members:

  • Vladyslav Dyshlyk (Institute of Agroecology and Environmental Management of NAAS);
  • Dmytro Buhera (Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of NAAS);
  • Andrii Slobodianiuk (Institute of Horticulture of NAAS);
  • Illia Mityohlo (M.V. Zubets Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics of NAAS);
  • Taras Oliinyk (National Scientific Agricultural Library of NAAS);
  • Oksana Zlenko (National Scientific Centre Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine);
  • Roman Kharytonenko (Institute of Land Use of NAAS).

The newly elected composition of the Council and the draft Regulations on the Young Scientists Council will be submitted to the Presidium of NAAS for approval in the near future.


The staff of the Institute of Accounting and Finance of NAAS sincerely congratulates its Director, Stanislav Vasylishyn, on his election as Chair of the Young Scientists Council of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
