On 12 November 2025, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Food of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, a report was heard from Valery Zhuk, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences; Valery Zhuk, Chief Researcher at the National Scientific Centre ‘Institute of Agricultural Economics’, on the topic ‘Losses and restoration of the potential of agricultural enterprises in wartime: methodology for analytical assessment and presentation in Euro-integrated reporting’.
The achievements and productive progress of these studies were noted. In particular, their impact on the improvement of state regulatory and legal acts, the deployment of work on the analytical assessment of damage and losses from the war on enterprises in the agro-industrial sector. As part of the research, the project ‘Developing methodological approaches to determining losses, assessing the impact of military aggression and compensation policy on the development of agricultural entrepreneurship’ was successfully completed, funded on a competitive basis by the National Research Fund of Ukraine.
During the presentation, it was demonstrated how the research results influenced the development of economic science in Ukraine. The scientific community received from the NAAS: 4 methodological recommendations for mass testing; 7 tests were conducted independently (under agreements with enterprises); 40 keynote (plenary) speeches were made at scientific conferences; 3 analytical notes were prepared for state bodies. Separately on this topic, NAAS scientists published 1 monograph, 5 articles in journals (Scopus) and 9 articles in journals (category B).
The report sparked a lively discussion, which concluded that the work of the National Scientific Centre ‘Institute of Agrarian Economics’ and the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the NAAS on accounting and assessment support for state policy on compensation for losses to agricultural enterprises as a result of the war was satisfactory. and outlined directions for further refinement of the content of the PND for 2026-2030 in terms of specifying tasks for scientific support of the analytical assessment of losses of agricultural enterprises' potential and presenting this in Euro-integrated reporting.
